On October 11th, Rise High hosted its second Family Science Night at Mont Pleasant Middle School! This evening of science fun was possible in collaboration with the RPI Engineering Ambassadors, RPI Science Ambassadors, and the middle schools of the Schenectady City School District. The event was open to all 6th graders and their families. They enjoyed hands-on stations on traffic optimization (civil engineering), the design of safe roller coasters, prosthetics, decoding viruses, future of light, and structures. We were also excited to introduce Rise High to the parents, as we start our recruitment season for our new cohort of 6th graders that will start in the spring 2019.
Thanks to the RPI Engineering Ambassadors, RPI Science Ambassadors, and Schenectady City School District for allowing us to reach into the community with some science fun for all! Special thanks to the administration of Mont Pleasant Middle School for hosting us.
Also thanks to the Stewart’s Shop on Brandywine Ave in Schenectady for the donation of delicious cider donuts, and 5th & 50th Pizzeria for a special discount on pizza for the kids, families, and volunteers!
