We are thrilled to resume our new academic year 2019-2020, and welcome back our students back, who haven ow moved up to 7th and 8th grade!

Our 7th graders got started on a module on Forensics, led by the NYS Troopers Forensics Division. They learned techniques around ballistics, substances, DNA, and fingerprinting. Did I hear CSI? They will have to apply the techniques learned to solve next week’s case! Meanwhile, our 8th graders started a module on Environmental Microbiology, led by our friends at SUNY Schenectady County Community College. Dr. Harris, Dr. Simons, and Eric Quinn took our students to Schenectady’s Vale Park, where they not only learned about our local nature and its microbiology, but collected water samples that they also learned how to plate for further analysis next week. Oh, what will we find? What a beautiful and perfect day it was for this session!

Thanks to our partner Clarkson University Graduate School for hosting us!
